Infectious and tropical disease care in Tabriz, for patients outside Iran.
This page is for travellers, visitors and Iranians living abroad who have, or may have, an infection and want to be seen by Dr. Haghdoust, a specialist in infectious and tropical diseases in Tabriz. It explains what to collect before you come and how to reach the support team.
Before you travel
Gather what you have. Clear copies or phone photos are fine to start with.
- Culture and antibiogram reports from earlier tests, and any blood, urine or stool results
- Imaging reports and, if you have them, the images themselves
- Every antibiotic and other medicine you have taken for this illness: the name, the dates, and how you responded
- Any hospital stay or treatment you had in another country
- Your travel history: dates, cities and villages, and any insect or animal bites, or contact with animals or raw dairy
- Your vaccination record, your allergies, and your other long-term conditions
The way to send these documents is still being confirmed. For now, call the international support line: +989302272111

Practical questions
Can a diagnosis be made from my records alone?
Not usually. Your records help the doctor understand your situation, but a diagnosis and a treatment plan come after an examination and the right tests.
Should I stop or change my medicines before I travel?
No. Keep taking your medicines as prescribed and do not stop or change any of them without your own doctor. Bring the list with you.
How long would I need to stay in Tabriz?
It depends on the tests and visits you need. The doctor can tell you after the first visit.
I have a fever after a trip. Can I wait until I travel to Tabriz?
Please do not wait. If you have a fever after travelling, especially to a malaria area, or any other warning sign, get care where you are today. See the list of urgent signs in the guide.
What about language, fees and insurance?
These are not confirmed yet and are listed above as awaiting details. Please do not assume anything until they are confirmed.
What number do I call in an emergency?
115 is Iran's emergency number. It works only while you are in Iran. From abroad, use your local emergency number.
Every patient's situation is different; ask your doctor about your own.
